IGI Continues Development Work with Scrape Surface Heat Exchanger
Technology
IGI continues to work with customers developing potential applications utilizing scrape
surface heat exchange technology (SSHE). The work has focused on a number of
specific areas:
-Improving surface aesthetics with waxes prone to have soft crystalline structures or
issues with entrapped air.
-Use in vegetable wax and paraffin-vegetable blends of wax to reduce frosting and
cracking.
-Use in vegetable wax and paraffin-vegetable blends to improve opacity, boldness, and
overall usable range of colorants in the candle system.
-Improving quality in “low-end” waxes for use in religious fill candles.
-Faster set times in conventional pour candles, especially with multi-layer applications.
All of these areas are possible due the extremely low pour point that can be obtained
using the SSHE technology. The low pour point, combined faster crystallization rate,
allow for these possibilities.
IGI is currently in a partnership arrangement that allows customers the ability to perform
pilot runs on a SSHE unit. This allows the customer to evaluate different applications
using SSHE technology with minimal commitment to purchase the equipment.
Interested customers should contact IGI:
